Story
Hi, my name is Anna Farrell and on 21st June 2025 I will be completing a 15,000ft skydive, and I am hoping to raise much needed funds for The Willows Dementia Hub in the process.
I chose The Willows as dementia is a cause close to my heart, and I wanted my help to go directly to a service in my local community, providing support for local people. You can find out a bit about The Willows below...
Research shows there are more than 944,000 people in the UK who have dementia. 1 in 11 people over the age of 65 have dementia in the UK.
The number of people with dementia is increasing because people are living longer. It is estimated that by 2030, the number of people with dementia in the UK will be more than 1 million.
The Willows Dementia Hub in Rochdale, provide vital support to those living with dementia and their families and carers. With a residential hub providing 24/7 care to people suffering with complex dementia, a day care service allowing carers a break from their role, respite services allowing people to go on holiday and take time out, and their Willows at Home service providing domiciliary care and one to one companionship visits in the community. They also run 2 dementia friendly cafes which provide drop in support and advice. The Willows provides a lifeline to those diagnosed with dementia and their families, and this is why I have chosen to fundraise and support them.
If you feel you can support me in doing so, any sponsorship, however big or small, is massively appreciated whilst I tick another thing off my bucket list and support our local community at the same time.
Thank you in advance, Anna and The Willows.
