Iʼve raised £5,095 to improve Anita's Garden. Anita suffers from MND and I am raising funds to add wheelchair access, safe and level areas and raised beds.

Story

I have known Anita for about twenty years – she used to be my boss! We became great friends. Anita became diagnosed in 2018 with Motor Neuron Disease (MND). Anita got married to Carl in May 2019 and this is Anita and I in the picture on her wedding day!

Of course, with MND there is an ever-growing requirement for care. Anita is now in a wheelchair permanently and her husband Carl works long hours and is her carer too. And so of course, as such a dear friend I would like to do something for her and Carl that would help Anita's wellbeing.

So, I would like to raise funds for Anita to have her garden converted into an area she can access in her wheelchair and enjoy some lovely surroundings with raised flowerbeds, and find time to just get some sunshine and fresh air at home.

October 2023 update. Well, whilst I've been busy competing at bodybuilding shows, all you incredible people have been continuing to donate. We are now at £3,382, thats 67% of our target, and I'm blown away. Thank you so much for your generosity. Love Pearly xx

Gosh, I am still amazed at people's support for our campaign for Anita's Garden! More money has been coming in over the last couple of weeks and we're now at £2,867. Well over half way to our £5,000 target! And another exciting thing is now happening. Anita's Son Ryan is running the Great North run on 10th September to help raise more money. Go Ryan Go! And of course, from me, I would like to say again how grateful I am for all your donations. Love Pearly xx
