Story
Our family consists of 3 children and four fur babies (Belle,Max,Luna & Willow)4 energetic and loving Labradors and this dynamic made our family complete.
On Monday the 29 January our precious 5month old golden Labrador became very lethargic and took a sudden and devastating turn for the worse, in the space of 30mins she had died in my arms... the tears were running down my eyes as as our Belle, the pac leader showed the same signs. We rushed her along with our angel Willow to our local vets. Whilst blood tests were being run on Belle the great staff at vets4pets Newport Road performed an autopsy on willow, we had to find the cause for this.
The results were in for both. Belle had kidney failure, Willow had died from poisoning, her insides completely devastated by this evil act! Belle was quickly set up on fluids with aggressive antibiotics pumped into her. She stayed overnight to get all the help she needed.
During this time we rushed our two fox red babies (Max & Luna) down for testing also but the results came back with great news.. Max was fine, Luna had some raised white blood cells.. a few shots of antibiotics and they were good to go!
We returned the following day to see belle, the mornings visit was great.. greeted with her wagging tail, her usual jumping up and licking of the face.. great we thought but this was short lived...unfortunately Belle declined throughout the day and later that afternoon, holding her and whispering into her ear how proud i was of her, how she was the best friend we could have asked for... she left us.
Our two babies had been poisoned. Poisoned by some evil person who may have stepped in poo and thought it was ok to go after a poor defenceless animal.. our girls!
We spent the night in tears but with a light, that light was Max and Luna, they were here with us and we thanked god for that.
The following morning we woke to sick and and odd looking stool. Immediately took the our babies along with their samples to the vets. They were tested, bloods taken for testing and the horror struck home, our remaining fur babies were suffering with the same thing... POISON!! The same process was taken for them, fluids, antibiotics and total love and care from the staff at the vets. We left and prayed that they would be fine. Later that day we received a call from the vets, their blood-work began to follow Belle’s suit... we had to get them specialist treatment. This was at Langfords vets in Bristol. We drove them there and there they have stayed getting all the care and treatment needed to enable them to come home and make us all happy.
They are fighting for their lives, Max more so as ultrasound scans have shown he has intussusception intestines and requires an emergency operation with plenty of after care. Luna is looking good at the moment, fluids and antibiotics will ensure she has the best chance.
As you can imagine, this week has been devastating for us and our three children. We are struggling to cope with all the mounting medical bills that unfortunately our insurance cannot cover. Between the treatment for Belle, Max & Luna at both our local and specialist vets these are soaring and we are stuck between finding the funds or not and breaking our children’s hearts over and over again. Of course we have chosen to save our fur babies and would be forever grateful if you could help us do this. We know times are so tough for everyone so we arent asking that you go without just that if you can spare what you can the smallest donation would mean the world to us and save the lives of animals that have been poisoned and made to die the most painful death.
The police has been informed and will be checking the area for cctv footage to help find these evil people! We will not rest until they are brought to justice.
Thank you for reading our story. If you cannot donate we totally understand but if you could convert your thoughts (about this) into speech and tell everyone you know about the evils that potentially lay in and around the fields where we live.. we can save others from these pure evil acts.
