Story
Hello everyone,
I'm raising money for Musical Equipment for the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, St. Fidelis Friary and for Brother John Bosco's sabbatical!
(Please note Friars don't know about this initiative yet - please don't mention to them!)
Anyone that knows friars, know that they are amazing and true blessing for anyone who meets them!
I am trying to raise some funds to help them with their mission. They rely purely on providence!
I noticed that their musical equipment: keyboard, music stands, cables are falling apart!! In order for the friars to continue to help us grow in our faith and support of Catholic events with their music; they need this new equipment. Their keyboard in particular is on its last legs at 15 years old!
In case you don't know much about Friars, they live just as their spiritual brothers did many centuries previously – they live by God’s Providence. They own nothing, apart from couple of habits and they sleep on the floor. Yet God provides them with everything they need thanks to people's generosity.
Friars support a lot of events for Young Adults in London and I think that most people know about their musical talents. If you haven’t yet then check out Fr. Tansi recordings http://franciscanfriars.com/music-from-father-tansi/
I am sure a lot of you have seen them playing on the Catholic Underground, Discipleship Days or other events like Nightfever. They do sound like an accomplished musical ensemble but their music ministry has a deeper mission than just purely entertainment. They want to help people pray, young people especially; they spend hours in adoration praying for the music they make, which is an accompaniment to Holy Mass and Adoration.
Also after 6 years of serving as a local servant; Brother John Bosco is moving into a different position in the community. He has been allowed a period of sabbatical beginning in June and lasting for four months. As part of his break, he is planning to walk 300 miles in the way of Santiago Compostela. He needs some funds to support him on this journey.
I think it could be a nice gesture from us for their continuous prayers and ministry. Your money will go a long long way. Witnessing people receive God's love and loving God in a way that they perhaps hadn't before, through the Friars music and ministry.
I really realllllly think that it is just a small thing we can do to help friars’ mission. Every little helps!
THANKS SO MUCH
