Story
Over last 2 years I visited a rural health centre in Zambia, The aim was to identify how the rural healthcare needs could be met, providing support and mentorship of health professionals working in the area. The issue facing the area is a lack of access to healthcare in the remote communities. We have had 2 ambulances donated by Yorkshire Ambulance Service which can be used in the region, but we need to get them into the country. Various organisations have pledged support but we still need a bit more to get these vehicles on a ship and over to Zambia. These vehicles can be used as an ambulance as we would understand it, but also as mobile clinics for healthcare outreach and training. YAS colleagues are going to do the drive from zambian border as safer to get them on a truck to border to Mukuni village .
Quotes so far are £3-4K per vehicle so any donation to get them shipped would be appreciated.
we have had some great donations so far thanks to everyone .not just. money but stuff for school and the YAS staff giving up time to go drive From Yorkshire to Southampton port
thanks One and all
