On October 6th we will be setting off from Halifax on the #ITSOKAYTOWALK challenge and walking the 194 miles to London. We hope to cover the distance in time for World Mental Health Day on October 10th. We are doing this to continue raising awareness around suicide and mental health and to really try and engage with people up and down the country.

ANDY ROBERTS was a loving and doting father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He was an all round top guy, one of the truly nicest people I have had the pleasure of meeting, and an honour to of been his brother in law. Sadly and tragically, without any warning Andrew was taken away from all his us and friends by suicide. What is staggering is that 4500 men under 45 each year die by suicide, thats more than any illnesses, diseases, RTA's and then top that off with 42% of men aged 18-45 have considered suicide as an option, i believed something had to be done! I was very naive when setting up #ANDYSMANCLUB, I knew the statistics but I guess I did not realise just how big the problem was were facing or how much our group is needed until the #ITSOKAYTOTALK Selfie Campaign. The out pour of message I have received to set up a group in areas across the country and the world has been outstanding. So far, the support shown and help in terms of raising awareness has been huge but awareness is only the first part of this campaign. Why encourage men to talk but then give them no platform to talk? After all, our main issue as men is talking to those closest to us as we don't want to show weakness or burden our loved ones. I need your help to raise money to be able to help pay for facilities and activities and the setting up of costs to help get #ANDYSMANCLUB set up your area. If we can do this, we can make a huge difference, we can offer a completely free group to men everywhere. The environment we have created is what makes our group work and its that we want to spread across the country and who knows... WORLD??
