Story

This page is now defunct, but please donate to the RMT here (https://www.rmt.org.uk/about/national-dispute-fund/) or feel free to donate to your own Trade Union!

My name is Andy and I am a young Trade Unionist from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. I recently helped organise an event where we raised a little bit of money for various unions dispute funds at a music event kind of thing.

Every year I run a half marathon on Xmas Day so I thought that given the fact there are RMT strikes over this period it was fitting to try and raise a bit of cash for the fund!

The RMT National Strike Dispute fund makes hardship payments to support their striking members taking part in disputes, and the need for these will be even higher over this winter period. With the cost of living crisis and inappropriate situation that RMT members have been put in by management, it is essential that we show solidarity and help them out! Even if its only a couple of quid please donate what you can!
