(ENG) “Approximately 25 percent of the total population in Cambodia lacks access to safe water, and 58 percent lacks access to improved sanitation. With approximately 80 percent of Cambodians living in rural areas, poor access to safe water and sanitation disproportionately affects its rural communities.“

Hola everyone! I’m volunteering this summer helping villages in Cambodia deal with the water situation. I am spending most of my summer there helping others and living a scary, yet exciting experience.

I would be extremely grateful for any help, as I’m trying to pay for the whole trip myself. I have never done this before, nor going to a new country on the other side of the world for 6 weeks, nor asking for financial help. But life is about this: going out of my comfort zone!

I can’t imagine what it must be like to live without clean water and I hope I can learn to value how lucky I am, as well as be of help with my crazy energy and creative ideas to those who need clean water to survive.

There is always something you can do- and I hope to at least make someone’s life better. Thank you very much, I will keep you posted about my journey!

Hola a todos! Este verano voy de voluntaria a Camboya, a ayudar a los poblados con la situación del agua y a vivir una experiencia única.

Estaría muy agradecida por cualquier ayuda, ya que estoy intentando pagar el viaje entero yo misma. Nunca he hecho esto antes, ni ir a un nuevo país al otro lado del mundo durante 6 semanas, ni pedir ayuda financiera. Pero la vida es sobre esto: salir de mi zona de confort!

No puedo imaginar lo que debe ser vivir sin agua limpia y espero poder aprender a valorar lo afortunada que soy, así como ser de ayuda con mi energía e ideas creativas. Espero al menos poder mejorar la vida de una persona. Muchas gracias, te mantendré informado sobre mi experiencia!
