I've raised £200 to Brighton Multicultural Women’s Cycle Club aka The BMWs

Hi! My name is Ana!
I have spent the last 10 months helping out at the Bike Hub. This place is run by volunteers repairing donated bikes and/or helping fix their own bikes.
The Bike Hub has been my playground where time just flies by as I found comfort after all this caos we all have lived. At the Bike Hub, I felt like a little girl trying to fix old rusty bikes. My head can just disconnect from the adult world and connected to a fun greasy messy world.
I would love to give something back to this little community. Hence my friend Lidia (Visually impaired), Dexter (the dog) and Ana (me) are cycling around Sussex for charity.
We will be cycling for 6 days to raise money for Brighton Multicultural Women’s Cycle Club aka The BMWs (partnership with the Bike Hub).
Here a bit of their story:
Many of the members are refugees and vulnerable migrants who have experienced trauma and are facing financial hardship. They are currently 40 members.
The BMW focus is on peer support, community, and empowerment.
Their aim is to get more bicycles, their own secure storage and train more women to be competent cyclists so that they can go on more group rides together: for physical exercise, social interaction, improved knowledge of our City, and greater wellbeing. The ability to cycle enables active travel for easy access to education, and social and employment opportunities. The BMW wants to develop a sustainable club, and continue to support local, multicultural women to enjoy the freedom of cycling.
If you would like to help getting more bikes to this community. You can either donate an spare bike or donate any spare change you have.
Are you up for a ride?
