Story

On 27th August 2018 Matthew Woodman passed away on the Isle of Lewis while on holiday at his granny’s house. Matthew was from Greenock, his parents still live there with their older son Harvey. His mother, Kim Woodman, has set up a community foundation in Matthew’s memory. Arran and Lewis (aged 9) along with Charlie (aged 10) and Grace (aged 5) are looking to raise some money for the Matthew Woodman Foundation by walking a ‘Million Steps for Matthew’ starting on 27th August this year. One million steps equals 500 miles for an adult so for a child we think it would maybe be just over 300 miles which takes the kids from their home on the Isle of Lewis to Greenock, this is particularly poignant as this was Matthew’s final journey home to be laid to rest in Greenock. The kids will start their challenge on Thursday 27th August 2020, the second anniversary of Matthew's passing. Any donations are much appreciated and will encourage the children to keep walking.
