Update 4- Ambulances4Ukraine.
In the last couple of weeks things have really progressed quickly. With some amazing donations of vehicles and kit, we have managed to get 6 fully equipped ambulances and 2 first response 4x4s directly to the frontline medics and hospitals that need them the most. We are continuing to work with the Kiev Lions, who in turn have been tasked by the Ukranian Ministry of Health to source medical equipment and vehicles.
The ambulances and vehicles are now working fulltime in Odessa, Dnipro, Kharkiv & Kyiv, several at children's hospitals directly evacuation casualties from the front line.
Initailly all our donations came from the Channel Islands as that's where we primarily work, but increasingly donations are coming from across the UK, so a huge thank you to everyone who has helped in any way, you really are helping to directly save lives and get families and children out of harms way.
We also have no admin/overheads/hidden costs as give our personal guarantee that all donations will be 100% used where they are needed the most. We cover the JustGiving fee and operating costs through our shipping company.
There's a lovely article in this months LRO magaizine on the Freelanders if you are interested in the Land Rovers to see what they are up to in Ukraine.
Thank you, Richard & Gosia xxxx
Original post below.....
With all the craziness of the world and having team members with direct family ties to Eastern Europe, we couldn't stand by and do nothing. We have already bought, prepared and fully stocked 2 vehicles for the Ukrainian Medical Services. The first, a Land Rover Freelander, was converted as a First Response car, jam packed with Paramedic equipment. The second, a Fiat Ducato, was fitted out as a front line ambulance with all the associated equipment. By the time you read this they will have been delivered and hopefully helping to save lives in Ukraine.
We have received a phenomenal response, so much so that we are aiming to source a further 2, or who knows even more, and keep supplying the essential medical equipment as long as it is needed.
We are working with the full support and guidance of the Ukraine Embassy in London and the Kyiv Lions Club, who are directly passing the vehicles and equipment straight to where they are needed the most.
We have also received incredible support from Thurston Signs & Workwear, Condor Ferries, DFDS, A-Cute Medical and Code Blue Medical. Also friends and Colleagues who kindly donated their time to deliver them across Europe.
Any help would be gratefully received and we can personally guarantee you will be directly helping the frontline Medics in Ukraine.
