£9,868
raised of £5,000 target by 239 supporters

Iʼve raised £9,868 to make sure we can continue to support local families in need of food during the coming months while COVID19 is prevalent.

    Story

During this difficult time we will be working with local businesses and community groups to ensure that anyone with a referral can receive a food parcel - just as we have over the past years. However, we envisage a much higher demand than normal and also the need to supply enhanced food parcels which require fresh meat, fruit, dairy and veg. These are things we cannot store and so cannot be donated by the public like the much appreciated ambient foods we receive so regularly. Please help us to help those in need in Amble and surrounding areas during these challenging times.

My Dear Supporters, I have decided to close this fundraising page. I can't believe it raised a massive 184% of the original target and I can't thank you all enough for your generosity. The food bank has grown from supplying 6 users before COVID19 to around 80 users! Recently a few food bank users have informed us they no longer need a parcel as they have either gone back to work or found new employment, great news but we think it may never return to the small numbers we had before. We are now in the process of applying for Charitable Status.

It's just stunning that £8,478 has been donated in support of Amble Food Bank. The days down at food bank are busy affairs, overseen by our host of amazing volunteers who continue to support those in need - without prejudice. Thank you so much all, for your generous donations - it is our intention to continue to supply food to those in need for as long as necessary and please know that your donations are being spent on purchasing groceries we end up being short of after all the wonderful food donations we receive.
