We are a small group of sewers who came together, as it emerged that there was a nationwide shortage of PPE for all frontline workers, to make and provide scrub sets for those on the frontline of services fighting Corvid 19.

The scrubs are going to GP surgeries, community nurses and midwives, Residential/care and Nursing Homes. The biggest challenge we have faced is sourcing fabric- duvets and sheets were forthcoming after various requests through social media platforms. We rapidly found that the clinical prefer the plain coloured sets whilst the social care and paediatric settings far prefer the fun colourful sets. We can make these in such variety from both children’s and patterned duvet covers. Hence our recent plea for children’s sets to bring a smile to the face of those receiving, care in a community setting.

In addition to the fabric we require elastic, patterns , interfacing, cottons etc, hence we have set the page up to help us raise these funds. Please consider donating. Every penny makes a difference to the key workers who receive a scrub set.

To date we have supplied over 500 sets of scrub sets and an additional 200 scrub bags to those needing them across Surrey and Sussex. We have also been able to support family and friends of residents who live further afield and could not source what they required.

Any monies that remain at the end of this project will be split between our two chosen charities this year. These being Willow House at the Childrens Trust and Whizz Kidz. Both of which hold very special places in my heart.
