I've raised £20000 to help LGBTQ refugees through our Turkey program and support LGBTQ individuals currently impacted by the earthquake in Turkey

The Aman Project is a refugee-led LGBTQ+ grassroots organization founded in 2017.
Since then, the Aman Project has evolved as a grassroots initiative that runs a number of programs centered on advancing the rights of refugee LGBTQ+ persons in Turkey and the wider MENA region.
We are sending funds directly to LGBTQ individuals currently living in cities which have been impacted by the February 6th earthquake in Turkey (specifically in Gaziantep, Hatay province, Urfa, Kahramanmaraş, Adana, Osmaniye). We are using PTT (the Turkish national post company), and occasionally direct bank transfers to send money directly to our community members during this time of crisis.
We are asking indivuduals to send us pictures and we are arranging calls with individuals so we can better assess their level of need. The funds are spent on food, shelter and transportation for the LGBTQ individual and their family. Please mention EARTHQUAKE when donating. 100% of funds go directly to the community and to LGBTQ individuals in need.
Each month, we provide support to LGBTQ refugees through the following programs:
- Food Vouchers: We provide 30-40 individuals with food cards each month
- Emergency Assistance: We provide cash assistance for medical bills and rent for 5-10 individuals in crisis each month
- Psychosocial Support: We connect LGBTQ individuals to one another and trained counselors for weekly psychosocial support sessions
We invite you to find out more about us on our website.
Thank you for your support, as an independent grass-roots organization your contribution goes a long way to make it possible for us to continue this important work.
