Making Almondbury a safer place to visit, work and live for everyone. Almondbury is a lovely village that needs to have on-street CCTV. This is due to crime and anti-social behaviour in various areas of Almondbury that has recently escalated. People have had enough and want to change things for the better.

There is no budget from the police or Kirklees Council to fund such an on street CCTV project. There have been at least 13 break or attempted break ins of business premises on Northgate and Westgate within the last 4 months (Jul-Oct). These break-ins have significantly impacted these businesses and community. THe community and visitors want to feel safe to walk round the village and give local shops their custom. There has been other crime and anti-social behaviour happening in various places round the village.

This fundraiser is to pay initially for an on street quality CCTV solution on Northgate that will cost about £12,000 which covers equipment, installation and support contract. Any excess raised will be used for other on-street CCTV installations required in other areas of Almondbury.

An donations made, even if the target is not reached, will be used to pay towards the on street CCTV solution.
