Story

My cousin is just 29 years old and was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (age 24) in 2016.

MND is a terminal condition and is ALWAYS FATAL.

Rob has always dreamed of travelling to Pittsburgh in the United States to watch his favourite Ice Hockey team, the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Planning, and funding a trip like this is incredibly challenging.

The family have almost raised enough to fund the trip, which includes Travel, insurance, accommodation, 2 carers (to ensure his needs are met), medical equipment and adapted transport.

We are just £1650 short and time is running out.

MND kills a third of those diagnosed within a year, and more than half within 2 years. Rob is now in his 5th year since being diagnosed so it is crucial that the trip goes ahead ASAP.

Rob is now wheelchair bound and reliant on a ventilator to help him breathe at night. His speech has deteriorated to the extent that he relies on a communication aid which uses his voice recordings from a few years ago.

Rob has never travelled abroad and our family appreciate all of your donations, and messages of support.

We are going to walk 20k from Southport to Liverpool to raise the final funds required to make Rob's final dream come true.

The walk is planned for Sunday 19th June 2022.
