This is in memory of a dear young friend Jason and his heart transplant donor.
Jason had a rare (univentricular) heart defect at birth but despite this battled to live a full life that sadly ended at Christmas 2014 after a heart transplant in the specialist centre in Newcastle.
I am a trustee for his charity and will walk from Birmingham to Newcastle Upon Tyne to raise money for the families in the future that will rely on Newcastle for their chance of life.
I shall be completing the 220 mile walk alongside Debra and Aaron, Jason's mum and brother .Please help us to fulfill one of Jason's last wishes .It was Jason's idea to set up a charity to provide emotional and practical support to patients and their families that require this specialist type of heart transplant. The stay at jays appeal is aiming to provide accommodation for families.
