I've raised £7000 to aid volunteers in Kyiv supplying food, medical and other vital supplies to hospitals and the vulnerable local communities.

Hi everyone,
++ UPDATE 15th May 2022++
The Russian Army has moved away from Kyiv so the group of volunteers that Serhii is working with are now travelling to the Eastern border in the Dombass region 2-3 times a week to support the people there.
In the new profile picture for this fundraiser you can see Serhii standing in the truck that has been bought with all your donations here to further support the people of Ukraine with supplies. For this we thank you very much!
++UPDATE 10TH April 2022++
Serhii and his group of volunteers have spoken to so many people while supporting their local community with aid. It cannot be described the things that these civilians have seen during this invasion from Russia, it just cannot be put into words. Any donation no matter how small is truly appreciated to support these people during this horrendous time.
++UPDATE 29TH March 2022++
The Ukranian government have announced that the Ukranian army has pushed the Russian Army back to 70km away from Kyiv, as a result volunteers can now reach more small villages and people who were behind the front line. As of yesterday Serhii and his group of volunteers have been able to reach and support these people.
++UPDATE 28th March 2022++
As of Saturday Serhii and his group of volunteers have been able to provide hot food to soldiers and people in need. A friend of Serhii has given him the keys to his restaurant in Kyiv to support the people until hopefully it can reopen.
++UPDATE 24th March 2022++
As of yesterday there is a marshal law in Kyiv for 36 hours, nobody is allowed to go outside. After this 36 hour period finishes Serhii and his group of volunteers will be back in operation helping the local communities in Kyiv.
++UPDATE 20th March 2022++
The situation has worsened, Serhii Chaikovskyi is in central Kyiv, the cutting off of the railways by the Russian invasion into Ukraine is becoming more real.
The group of volunteers that Serhii is working with are the vulnerable. While the main charities are doing their best to help the Ukranian Army, and hospitals, there is a gap in support for civilians such as the elderly, the disabled and the displaced.
_____________________________________________________________________________
This crowd-funder is in aid of Serhii Chaikovskyi who is in Kyiv, working with fellow local Ukranians to support field hospitals, hospitals, people in shelters and those who have been injured or made homeless as a result of the war with Russia.
Our mutual friend Pavel Rjazanecvs, who lives in Glasgow, managed to get Serhii's wife and 4 month old baby to safety, but many people like Serhii are staying behind and the grassroots group of Ukranians that Serhii is working with are using their own vehicles and money to support their communities.
Kyiv is still receiving supplies via the railway and there are supplies in shops (which are sold at cost value) but this situation is about to change with the advance of the Russian Army, and the railway is expected to be cut off. On speaking to Serhii and Pavel via Whatsapp last night they told me that fuel is still available along with medical and food supplies in shops, but money is needed urgently to secure these resources before Kyiv is cut off.
I am in contact with Serhii in Kyiv, and I will keep you all updated with how Serhii and his fellow volunteers are getting on.
Best wishes,
Ali Forbes
