Story
Alexis Woolerton’s Legacy appeal
Imagine if you will, a young girl growing up with a profound love of music and singing. A girl who developed aspirations of becoming a singer from a very early age and had a very unique talent for it. Watching music chart shows on the telly, trying to imitate her idols (many of whom have a legendary vocal range).
This girl from a working-class back ground in Leeds who started out singing into a hair brush in her living room along to music being played on Top of the Pops had dreams of being bigger.
She had dreams of people hearing and appreciating her talent. In short she wanted to be a star.
This girl pursued her dream the best way she knew how; she took up singing at school.
Her love of singing lead her to enter many singing and karaoke competitions (winning many of them) from a very early age.
Everyone who heard this amazing girl sing was in awe. She not only had an amazing voice with a vocal range that mirrored her idols, she also commanded your attention. Her stage presence was captivating.
Anyone who ever met this girl will tell you that she should have been a star, it was only a matter of time until the right person saw her talent.
This girl never lost hopes of singing as a full-time profession, but the trials of life meant that she never fully got the break she rightly deserved.
A few stints of singing on the European Holiday entertainment scene ensued and further garnered this now lady and mother of two beautiful children with the experience of playing to big crowds.
Sadly, cancer took a hold of this young talented mother of two.
Being a strong willed and positive person she managed to fight cancer off three times.
Having beaten cancer for a third time it inspired her to apply for two competitions that she admired. She decided to apply to both The Xfactor and to The Voice in the hope of getting her musical break.
She wowed them at the auditions and sailed through to secure a place on both shows. It finally looked like her amazing singing talents that many of us had come to know and love had been recognised and she would get her big break.
We all knew that she would be a star just given the chance and finally it was here.
Sadly, cancer was to rear its ugly head again and this time she lost that fight.
Now Imagine that young girl is your Daughter, Sister, Cousin, Friend.
Someone who had a god gifted talent, that just needed to be recognised by those in the music industry. Someone who finally got a musical break only to have it stolen away.
Like us you would want people to know of her talent. You would want people to see and judge for themselves what you have always known that this was an amazing singer.
That’s what our Facebook page is for.
Alexis Woolerton (Alex to those she knew) sadly lost her fourth battle with cancer on 24th December 2018.
She left behind two beautiful children Annie and Ava who miss her dearly. A doting partner Ricky, A family that is lost without her sparkle and her friends that crave just one more moment with her.
Alex was a doting mother who would do anything for her babies. Her whole life was about to change for the better when cancer stole her from them. She would have done so much for/with them after she had her break and again that's been stolen from poor Annie and Ava.
Please If you are moved by Alex’s story then do donate.
Our dream would be to raise enough money for Annie and Ava so they can go on a holiday of a lifetime to Disney World Florida. (something I'm sure Alex would have done with them with them) These poor kids have known heartache that no child should ever have to suffer after losing their Mother on Christmas eve. Their lives will never be the same and the joys that every child feels at Christmas, sadly for them will not be there.
If the appeal raises more than we hope for then money will go straight to Annie and Ava to go towards building a better future.
A donation from you can help go towards making that happen for them.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, all we ask is that you share. The more people who see this appeal the more likely we are to reach target for Annie and Ava.

I didn't know Alex, but I work with her partner Ricky. I saw the effect this had whilst he supported her to the end.

Alexis was my friend. I have joined my family who also knew Alexis to help them raise the money for her little girls. There is a team of us working our socks off to make this appeal a success.
