For people living close to the front line in Ukraine, any day may bring a need to flee their home and evacuate before occupation. Despite it being a war crime to target evacuation vehicles, the trucks and cars used to evacuate civilians under threat are often targets for drone attacks, and as such there is a constant demand for replacement vehicles.

In March, my partner Sam and I will be driving a Nissan Navara we have purchased in the UK to Ukraine in a convoy of 12 other trucks as part of the charity Convoy4Ukraine, working with the Sunflower Network.

We are asking for donations, first towards the purchase of trucks and related equipment and maintenance, but also to purchase crucial humanitarian aid such as generators, medical equipment and electronics to take with us directly to Ukraine, both on this and any future convoys.

We can only hope that this horrific war will end soon, but until then we must do what we can to help those going through unimaginable struggle, and this is a genuine way to save lives.
