    Story

Neale Cooper is quite simply a Dons legend. He went from ball-boy to two-time European winner. He picked up, on average, a major honour every 24 games with 'his team'. ‘Our team’.

With the support of Aberdeen FC, Neale Cooper’s Gothenburg team-mates and best friend John Hewitt, but also most importantly his family and friends we are reaching out to the Aberdeen FC community, to humbly ask for donations to fund a tribute display, and permanent memorial for Coops.

With this in mind we would encourage and welcome donations from all members of the Aberdeen FC community; businesses, supporters clubs, fan groups and individual fans.

Tattie is synonymous with European nights at Pittodrie and after Aberdeen FC’s poignant and emotional memorial service we think it fitting that a fan-funded and fan-led tribute should take place on one of these European nights.

We intend to fill the RDS with over 6000 flags featuring Neale Cooper’s image. These flags have been designed to be used once, and we would encourage you to take them home with you as a memento of Cooper and this tribute.

As part of the Pittodrie display there will a large centrepiece banner in tribute of the Gothenburg legend.

Any funds raised above and beyond the costs of the display will remain in the pot. Fundraising will continue with a view to creating a permanent memorial for Neale Cooper. We would welcome suggestions from fans, family and businesses on what we could do, and where it could go.

We hope to do Coops pwoud. Vewy, vewy pwoud.

If you agree with the above, please donate and share the link far and wide.

250 Dandies have now donated to the Neale Cooper Tribute Fund. Thank you for your support. We are 100% fan-funded on this project. John Hewitt has been very supportive of our efforts in raising funds for a tribute to one of his best friends. We are auctioning exclusive John Hewitt prints, signed by the man himself, this weekend on www.facebook.com/DollyDigital and www.twitter.com/dollydigital. Every penny from these auctions will be donated to the Neale Cooper Tribute Fund. Thanks for your support and feel free to share this far and wide!

With the auction of a signed Aberdeen 2018-19 away shirt we have hit another milestone. We have now, with your help, successfully funded over 6000 digitally printed flags that will be used in the RDS. Flags featuring an image of Neale Cooper will be in place for kick-off in Aberdeen's Europa League 2nd Round Qualifier versus Burnley. So, thank you for that! The next milestone we hope to achieve is to fund a giant banner which will form the centrepiece of the overall tribute display. This will be one of the largest banners Pittodrie has seen.
