My name is Alba U. Roman and I am 23 years old. I am from Spain and I am studying Anthropology and International Relations at the University of Aberdeen. I have been selected to participate on a study trip to the Occupied Palestinian Territories this coming 30th September, organised by non-profit organisation Horizons.

The trip aims to allow student activists to experience the conflict and its consequences first-hand and to promote cultural understanding and awareness of the difficulties faced today by the Palestinian society. Upon our return, each of the students commit to do their best in their home countries to transmit the knowledge gained during the trip and support Palestinians in need.

For this trip to become a reality each of the students selected must crowdfund a minimum of 300 EUR by 31st August. This money, as well as to pay for the costs of the trip and its organisation, hopes to be another way to raise awareness of the Palestinian situation in the students’ wider community. I also hope to fundraise some of the money to cover the cost of my flights.
