Alan Peake was a very selfless man who spent his entire life helping others and supporting his family. Unfortunately, Sunday 2nd October he passed away at the age of 68. At 18 he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and was insulin dependant for the rest of his life. 5 years ago he was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer. This year he then suffered TIA strokes and later was suffering with heart issues.

I have made this page so that people can donate to the charities that are fighting against these 4 illnesses. Your money will be divided equally across all 4 charities.

Despite being type 1 for 50 years Alan was unable to get a libre device to help people monitor their sugar levels because the funding wasn't there. we hope the money that goes to this side can help improve funding for this.

For prostate cancer we hope that the money will help research to improve the ways we can diagnose earlier. If it is caught earlier it is a lot more treatable. so catching early is vital and we need a better way to spot it so that can happen sooner.

TIA strokes are very dangerous. we are always taught to act FAST with strokes. When Alan suffered these TIAs he didn't show the full stroke symptoms. This meant that he suffered partial memory difficulties daily. similar to cancer we hope that we can use this portion to help spot these TIAs earlier and work just as fast as a full stroke as they are just as damaging.

Finally for heart disease. Due to long term strain on his heart through Diabetes and Cancer his heart couldn't continue. We also hope that this money will assist with the research in improving how we maintain and recover from heart issues.

As part of his selfless personality i hope that others are willing to join him to help those that suffer from these illnesses so that they may get a better chance to fight against them so they can spend more time with their families and friends like Alan wanted to.
