    Story

    UPDATED SEPTEMBER 2018

Teddy bears used to be distributed to babies, young children and expectant mothers onboard the Scottish Air Ambulance flights but due to lack of public donations they have been unable to provide the bears over the past two years.

We unfortunately had to be transferred from Shetland to the Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital with our daughter and it was during this flight we got into a conversation with the onboard paramedic Peter Craigmile who explained to us about the bears.

When our daughter was well enough to come back home we immediately started fundraising to help redesign and purchase new bears. We raised enough to get the first batch of new bears ordered and they are now back being distributed onboard the air ambulance flights but we are still fundraising to ensure there is enough funds to continue supplying them.

These bears are a great comfort to young children as it helps comfort them when they are distressed while being transferred to hospital.

Your donations will ensure that funds will be available to reorder the bears for others to receive and have as a keepsake of their stressful experience.

Thank you for all the online donations so far and glad to hear that the bears are being well received onboard the flights by the young patients being transferred to hospital. Our fundraising is continuing with another event being held locally this saturday. Come along the Cunningsburgh Hall from 12-4pm for soup/sandwiches/tea/coffee and get a different wardrobe with our clothes Swap and look through the various sales tables of jewellery, beauty products, home bakes, books and bric and brac. 😁

We live on the Small Isles on west coast and had to recently use the air ambulance service. What an amazing job they do! My boy got a wee teddy and it was a good distraction. Thanks
