Story
This photo shows the mattresses and blankets donated to our cause by the kindness of people from around the world-THANK YOU! This vulnerable group of 42 people have all lost their families, through Malaria or HIV/AIDS and only survive due to the generous hand-outs of their fellow villagers, who themselves have very little. Many days this group of children and elderlies go without food. When Ali met them, everyone- including those aged 70-105, slept on a dirt floor, usually of a friend's house. Due to the kindness of our donators we have been able to buy mattresses, blankets, maize, 2 goats and some chickens. These lovely dignified villagers are VERY grateful. They would prefer to be self-sufficient, so we're continuing to raise funds to buy more livestock and to repair some of their tiny homes. EVERY penny raised goes directly to our team of 23 volunteers from a local church in Mayaka, lead by Pastor Philemon Mwaza. PLEASE visit www.africadirectgiving.com for more information. Thank you.
