When the mothers of the founders passed away after both battling from cancer, Dapo was only aged fifteen years whilst his wife, Ijeoma was only 23 years old. For them both, education was key and obtaining a good educational foundation was something that their mothers instilled in the both of them.  For Dapo, losing his mother at such a young yet pivotal age during a crucial period in his academic studies harkened the need for stability in order to continue with his studies. He found himself battling to concentrate with his GCSEs amidst having a daily struggle of where his next meal would come from.  For Ijeoma, enduring her university studies whilst her mother was undergoing chemotherapy was a challenge, but she was blessed to have her mother at her graduation ceremony.  A few month afterwards her mother passed away and her ability to gain employment four weeks prior enabled her to be in a financial position to support her family and care for her younger siblings with the help of her then boyfriend Dapo.  In ode to their mothers – Afo and Cecelia the Afocelia Foundation was formed.

The Afocelia Foundation recognises education as a fundamental tool for personal growth and community development. We are committed to providing financial support and resources to underprivileged school children in Nigeria, ensuring they have access to quality education. Through scholarships, school supplies, and educational programs, we aim to remove barriers to learning and cultivate a generation of skilled and knowledgeable individuals.

Through various projects and initiatives we aim to:

- Provide school meals to all students at a Primary School

- Provide school PE sports kits and school uniforms to school pupils at a chosen school

- Sponsor the academic studies for a year for specially selected students at a chosen secondary school
