THE OFFICIAL FUNDING PAGE FOR THE A DOLLAR FOR DAWSON CAMPAIGN.
My little boy, Dawson Willcock (he will be two next week) was diagnosed in January with Hepatoblastoma, a cancer so rare it affects less than one in a million children. Prognosis is good with a 90% success rate, however it seems Dawson is falling into the devastating 10% Dawson is chemo resistant, and in April we were given the terrible news that the cancer in his liver, has now spread to his lungs. Queens Medical Centre Nottingham have been incredible, are trying everything and getting assistance internationally to try save our beautiful boy. We know of a highly respected and sought after paediatric oncologist in Cincinnati. Our campaign and last funding page was to raise money to get Dawson treated by this oncologist. Time beat us, we have raised over £350,000 (£164,000 less charges on the previous funding page) so far but it seems Dawson's cancer was not going to give us time.
At the moment we are unsure that the money raised will be able to be used on Dawson, but we continue to push forward and ask for help in case we get our miracle and the oncologist or any oncologist finds something we can buy or pay for surgery too. The money won't be wasted if Dawson can't be saved, or indeed the NHS cure him, we have plans to leave a legacy for Dawson. We want to save another child/children's life who are looking for funding, we want to buy a holiday home for the use of families with a child with cancer and also support Addies Hepatoblastoma Research, no child should go through this and no parent should watch their child suffer so much, only to lose them anyway.
