Mailie is a 3yr old little girl who has just been diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma for the 2nd time. Her first diagnosis was at 6mths old, when a tumour grew to the size of an egg in her neck within 2wks. She underwent chemotherapy and had surgery to remove the full neck muscle. Unfortunately back in December the rumour started growing back and last week we had the confirmation that the cancer is back and mailie has to start her battle all over again. This time she is going to have 4 rounds of chemotherapy and then will be going to America for proton beam therapy around June time depending on any delays in treatment. Although the NHS will fund mailies treatment in America we as a family have to fund the living expenses while over there. This is going to be difficult as we will be leaving mailies older 3 siblings at home with grandma. We are hoping mailie can go to America with her mum, dad, step-dad and new baby sister (due in may). Mailie recently started nursery and has been loving it so now this is going to turn her little world upside down once again and we want to make this as easy on her and her siblings as much as possible.
