Story
Luke contracted meningocal meningitis just before Christmas 2019, he was gravely ill and recieved excellent care at both Airedale Hospital and Sheffield Childrens Hospital. Unfortunately due to the sepsis which ravaged Lukes body, he is now a quad amputee. Loosing his left arm mid forearm, his right just past his elbow and both legs through the knee joints.
Luke has done really well since his operations, enduring 23 surgeries in just 10 weeks. He has done lots of physio and stength building exercises and has started to learn to walk again on some very basic prosthetics, we are just starting down the road of arm / hand prosthesitics. Luke's recovery and rehabilitation is going to be a long, slow and sometimes difficult process. He will need many sets of prosthesis before he reaches adulthood and quite a bit of specialist or adapted equipment (wheelchairs, bikes, different prostheses for sports etc)
This fundraising is to help with the ongoing cost of these and simaler items
