Story

Hi I’m Adam Morrison I’m running the London Marathon in aid of #EandAPlay, a group that hopes to raise both funds and awareness to support children and families living with Childhood Cancer.

The group was set up after our friends' identical twins, Edward and Austin, were both diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL). The boys became ill within 7 months of each other - Austin in October 2017 and Edward in May 2018, both aged 2. The course of treatment for boys with ALL is a minimum of 3 years and as a result they are having to spend a lot of their early formative years in hospital.

Because of their weakened immune systems, the boys often have to spend days on end confined to their treatment room when they visit Medway hospital as cannot use the communal playroom on the children's ward due to risk of infection.

Based on Edward and Austin's experiences, our ultimate goal is to fund a fun, stimulating and safe space for children with cancers to escape the day to day gruel of treatment, away from the confines of their hospital room. Because even poorly children need space and stimulation to grow.

It’s gunna be tough training for the event but nothing compared to getting up at 4 in the morning, sometime 3 times in a week, to make the trek for treatment at the Royal Marsden
