Weʼve raised £4,588 to Help fund 2 defibs in Memory of Adam. One for the use of 4th West Bridgford Scout Group and one for the West Bridgford Methodist Church.

Story
This money is to be raised in memory of Adam Dearnley who passed away suddenly aged 26 of an as yet unknown cardiac problem. Adam was heavily involved in all Scouting activities including Kayaking, hiking and camping.
Before Adams passing he realised there was a lack of accessible defibrillators after witnessing an incident in the European football championships in summer 2021.
We are raising money for 2 defibrillators for the use of 4th West Bridgford Scout Group and the Methodist Church West Bridgford. One would be portable for use on scout camps and outdoor activities and the other would be for all church user groups and the local community.

2 years agoThanks to everyone who has kindly donated to this appeal. We have now purchased both defibrillators and with the extra funds raised, are able to donate over £2000 to the CRY charity. We will be closing this fund-raising page on 03 June 2022. Many thanks again for all you kind donations and messages of support at this difficult time. Richard &Tricia.

2 years agoWe have reached our initial target - thank you so much for all your kind donations. This message is just to inform everyone that any additional funds raised (we may need more than the original target of £3000) will be donated to the charity CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young). CRY aims to prevent sudden death in the young, through awareness, screening and research. CRY also provides support to affected families.
