Story

Alison Varley – The Warrior we all know and Love

Chapter 1: The Nightmare.

Alison was diagnosed in late 2021 with an extremely rare form the Cancer, Goblet Cell Carcinomas, the specific make up of this Cancer has NEVER been seen before in Medical History, which makes it very difficult to treat.

It is that rare, her scans have been shared across the UK and Europe, in the interest of developing more understanding of this Cancer.

Chapter 2: Where it all began.

The Cancer first made its ugly appearance in her Appendix, then spread rapidly into both her Ovaries, Rectum and Abdomen/Peritoneal.

She has undergone surgery to remove the Appendix followed by a full Hysterectomy to remove these horrid tumors, the result from this: Early Menopause.

The remaining tumors in her Abdomen/Peritoneal and Rectum, could not be Surgically removed, so after a long fight she was finally granted a treatment called “Immunotherapy” (Keytruda)

This treatment was successful in reducing the size of these tumors, it then had an adverse effect and started to irritate the remaining tumors, so the treatment was immediately stopped.

Chapter 3: Oncologist and Care.

Alison has been under the care of the specialist teams at: St James Hospital in Leeds, Basingstoke Hospital (Leading specialists in Peritoneal Cancer) and St Christies Hospital in Manchester (Leading specialists in Cancer Research)

All these specialists looked at Surgery and other treatments, and the decision was made to put her on a “Watch and Wait” plan, as the tumors had sat dormant after the Immunotherapy treatment ended.

Chapter 4: Here and Now.

On the 10th of March (Mother’s Day) Alison was admitted back to St James in excruciating pain, after a scan she was told the most devastating news… The Cancer has grown and spread at an unexpected rate.

The strong woman we all know, and Love is now broken, she can’t think of anything else than her beautiful girls – Daisy and Delilah, and not forgetting her lovely son Charlie and Husband Matthew.

She must have a stent fitted to ease the pain, followed by immediate intense and intrusive Chemotherapy.

Chapter 5: The Final Fight.

Alison is one of the strongest people we know but is now facing a very dark and uncertain future, she cares more about her family than anything, and wants to ensure they are ok while she fights this huge battle.

She is going to be out of action for a good while and her Husband will need to take a lot of unpaid leave to look after Daisy (4) and Delilah (2).

To try and alleviate the stress, anxiety and the unknown, her Friends and Family have set up this page to help support her in her darkest of days.

Please can you donate anything, even if it is just £1, it can be anonymous, or you can leave your name and a message of support.

She doesn’t want this to go viral, or get thousands, she only needs help to live and support her gorgeous family.

Thank you for taking the time to read the story of an amazing strong woman, and please support if you can.
