Story
Update 27 May 2024.
A huge thank you to all of you who have donated so far. We have had our expert planning consultant write a number of Opposition forms on the basis of South Staffordshire Local Plan 2024 being UNSOUND in relation to Site 036c.
We have ALMOST raised enoigh funds to pay him for this initial work.
As you know ALL opposition representation (LPR-PB2 forms) need to be received by the District Coumcil by noon on Friday 31st May 2024.
The next stage is in JANUARY 2025 when our expert will attend the hearing to speak in front of the Independent Planning Inspector, so we will be continuing to raise money to fund this.
Thank you for your support,
Alex Thompson (Chairman of Acton Trussell, Bednall with Teddesley Hay Parish Council)

We, as a Parish, need to employ a Planning Expert Consultant to represent the objections to the Planning Inspector.
This representation comes at a cost, but well worth the investment to prevent this development - which, COULD lead to many many more houses being built - as demonstrated before by this developer.
This is a WHOLE PARISH and Stafford Borough issue which could effectively join the Parish to Stafford Borough with a sea of houses, extra traffic using an already overloaded rat-run with terrible potholes and disappearing verges. So, residents of both Acton Trussell and Bednall should be concerned as well as those in the neighbouring Borough.
The current plan for the Acton Hill Site is for 81 Houses: (See Page 235 of the Local Plan prepared by South Staffordshire District Council.)
The issues are:
1.The development is on the boundary to Stafford and assumes all services from Stafford and SCC, but:
•Local schools are full
•Local heath provision is stretched
•Traffic into town is already awful
2. Stafford Borough Council oppose due to reasons above
3. It is uncertain that issues such as waste water (sewage) and surface water have been fully addressed
4. Many new residents will travel though our Parish to work, and likely to schools and health centre.
5. Loss, forever, of valuable farming land
See BATTH.CO.UK, local Facebook page or The Grapevine for more information and updates
5.Development of this site with 81 houses may well assist much larger developments later

5 months agoAfter the final push to get the paperwork submitted we are preparing for the next stage of the process for which we are appealing for more donations. We expect that in January 2025 the Planning Inspectorate will be presented with all the paperwork to review. Our objections to the inclusion of Site 036c in the South Staffordshire District Council Local Plan will be subject to a review and they may ask for respresentatives from those who submitted an objection who said they wanted to make a respresentation in person to attend the hearing.
