Our Story:

In Scotland, a non-Muslim country, it is important to cooperate in donating to build a Mosque, because the local Muslims need to perform worship and engage in Islamic education, for themselves and their children, this in turn encourages themselves to adhere to the rituals of Islam. And that often plays a role in bringing non-believers to the faith.

Ayrshire Central Mosque, Kilmarnock, was established, by the grace of Allah in 2009. This was the first Mosque in the west of Scotland. We found an old public house for sale and purchased it with donations from our local community for the sum of £190,000. We had to renovate the building and thus the Ayrshire Central Mosque and Community Hub was open in December 2009. This was not an ideal solution due to wrong layout, but it was better than hiring various church halls every week for Jummah Prayers only and not having a place to worship.

Within 6 months we also acquired a separate burial site for Muslims within Kilmarnock Cemetery This is The Only Muslim Burial Site in Ayrshire.

Since 2009 we have converted approximately 25 non- Muslims to Islam, Alhamdulillah.

Ayrshire Central Mosque, Kilmarnock is a non-profit, non-political, religious and educational institution. and has a Registered Charity status (SC041200)

The purpose of this Mosque is to serve the Muslim community of Ayrshire. We also hope to serve as a bridge between the Muslim and non-Muslim communities to promote mutual learning and understanding. With the objectives of (a) providing services to the Muslim community and bringing together the Muslim and non-Muslim communities in the Ayrshire.

We actively promote the message of Islam to: Eliminate misunderstandings among non-Muslims and to invite them to Islam, create an atmosphere whereby our youths and others are proud to declare their faith.

We provide the community with a forum for Islamic education.

We provide a means for the community to interact with each other socially and provide a path for them to fulfill their obligations as Muslims.

The fundamental objective of the Society will be to seek Glory to Allah (SWT).

Our Services include:

* Community Events for women and children.

* Adult and youth counselling.

* Hifz Programs Adults and children.

* Nightly Taraweeh prayers during the month of Ramadan.

* Iftar during the whole month of Ramadan.

* Conducts marriages services.

* Funeral & Burial Service.

* Operates a Foodbank.

Now in 2021 Our cause is to appeal for your help to rebuild our Mosque which is in a degenerate condition and not practical for our Muslim Communities activities. There is very limited space for the Sister’s, no classrooms and not enough ablution areas Plus our car park is uneven with potholes everywhere, not to mention the building is situated facing in the wrong direction to the Holy Kaaba.

We feel there is no choice but to proceed with a new build Mosque and Community Centre. This new build should commence in spring 2022.

The new renovation will commence in 2 phases, phase 1 will be to add a First Floor for the Sisters.

Our new Mosque & Center will be a well-designed, welcoming, inclusive and sustainable new permanent home for our community, offering space for prayers, classes, seniors' activities, youth programming, activities for children, counselling, feeding the needy, Dawah and much more, Insha Allah.

We are collecting and fund rising with many sources like door to door campaign, out door campaign, email forward system, online donation facilities etc. and we are feeling so happy to share with you that we have collected some money to our Masjid and the work in progress.
