Last year, I arranged a Christmas day breakfast for the homeless community and planned to feed around 30 people. I ended up catering for approximately 170. This year I planned to go bigger and better... I never expected how big it would be!

Our event is being organised as part of the Yummy's Scouse Christmas, which is supported by Liverpool City Council and includes other charities and other voluntary groups across the city, including Liverpool Homeless Football Club, The Whitechapel Centre and Imagine If Trust, we have all come together to make a difference that is immeasurable! We are aiming to cater for 1,000 people over multiple locations of this wonderful city.

We want to be there for people who would otherwise not have the Christmas that we've come to know and love. We include homeless, socially excluded, marginalised familes and elderly into that but we stress that nobody would be turned away.

Christmas day this year is going to be amazing. We want to see communities and individuals come together. We want everybody to feel welcome, whether it be volunteers or people having their Christmas lunch with us (or if they are coming for a bit of both!).

The city of Liverpool has been absolutely amazing with their support so far I am confident that we can all pull together and do this!
