The Wyvern School is a Special Needs school in Ashford, Kent, that provides education for pupils with disabilities aged 3– 19 years. The pupils within the school have large range of disabilities including global development delay, autism and profound and multiple learning difficulties. Each child will have a unique experience at The Wyvern School and the aim is for all pupils to enjoy learning and realise their full potential.
The school provides an environment for pupils to grow in readiness for adult life and learn to be part of a community where people are treat each other with respect, decency and dignity.
The school provides an education that creates suitable learning opportunities for all and overcomes potential barriers to learning; as well as preparing pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of life.
For some pupils within the school they also access additional therapy programmes to help support and improve mobility including hydrotherapy. Alongside this all pupils in the secondary school (aged 11-19), that are able to, take part in learning to ride a bike and completing a bike ability course. A lot of the pupils are currently unable to ride a standard two wheeled bike due to mobility and the school only have three junior trikes which are unsuitable for the senior pupils due to their height meaning they are unable to access this opportunity.

Due to this need for adult tricycles, we are raising funds to purchase tricycles and hand cycles for the school as well as a place to securely store them. We are planning a series of events to raise funds, culminating in a 110 mile cycle ride around Kent.
