In December 2017, 12 members of Withington Girls' School current Lower Sixth will be travelling to The Gambia to work with Mama Tamba Nursery School in Illiassa, which our own school has been closely involved with since 2006. Our goal is to raise £5000 to pay for teacher's salaries (so the children are able to attend school for free), improve the schools facilities and the main aim of our trip; covering the costs of the installation of a bore hole so that the children and staff have a constant supply of clean, safe drinking water. As part of our fundraising efforts, members of our team will be running 'The Colour Run' in July.
