Withernsea is a small resort town on the Yorkshire coast that desperately needs a new attraction to bring visitors and their much needed business to the town.
A pier was built here in Victorian times, the entrance to which, locally known as the sand castle, still exists.
We intend to re-build the pier which would be the only one on this stretch of coast between Saltburn in the north and Cleethorpes in the south.
At the moment, the Sandcastle, or "Pier Towers" are a rather grand gateway to concrete steps down to the beach.
We would like it to be restored to it's original function, the entry to a great seaside tradition, a stroll on the pier, perhaps with an ice cream!
