Ward 12 staff at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy are aiming to raise money to buy more equipment. The ward cares for elderly patients and it is vital that the staff have equipment to hand in order for staff to give the best care possible. Ward 12 is nurse lead, therefore there is not a doctor present on the ward. Although Ward 12 is for patient discharge planning the ward often has patients who become extremely ill and the stress of having to find equipment can delay patients treatment and also impact their health. Therefore as a team we are aiming to improve patient care and patient experience. Although patients are only meant to be on the ward for a short period of time, they are often there for while and they need something to help pass the time, therefore some of the money raised will be going towards buying TV's and other forms of entertainment.
