Since the start of the renewed escalation of conflict in Ukraine we have been collecting donations for displaced families, fleeing the war, and sending them over to Ukraine. We started doing this as we ourselves have family and friends in Ukraine, and so this war has touched us personally. Having been in Ukraine a number of times, we wanted to help those brave people in any way we could. We have had a fantastic response from the local community involving individuals, businesses, schools and other organisations, whose generous donations have already reached Ukraine.

As we start to see Ukrainians arriving in the UK and especially Lancashire where we are based we want to create a fund that can be used for the benefit of Ukrainians arriving. The funds will be spent on things like bikes and scooters for children, essential toiletries for Ukrainians when they first arrive, organising social meetings for Ukrainians so they do not feel isolated in the community and essential travel costs to visa centres by Ukrainians applying to come to Lancashire families.
