Iʼve raised £4,745 to Assist the Brain family; driven into debt by the callous UK Home Office in trying to stay in Scotland. They have to go again in 12 months.

Story
Many of you will have heard about the Brain family. They came to Scotland for Kathryn to study and aimed to stay using the visa the Scottish Govt had put in place. At the end of study the UK Home Office refused to allow the family to stay. Their son, Lachlan, has attended school only in Scotland and is a Gaelic speaker (more than I am).
The family have had so much support from Scotland and were granted a 12 month visa on the back of MacDonald's hotels giving Kathryn a job. That though is only a 12 month visa and the family need to go again to the Home Office to process a full time visa.
They were not allowed to work during the Home Office process, they can claim no benefits or support in the UK and they don't want any. They have though used their life savings to come and study in Scotland and are now more than £30,000 in debt with another £6,000 at least in fees for the next visa stage.
I believe Scotland has the heart to invest in this family and show them that #WeAreScotland
Please watch Greg talking at the SNP conference to appreciate where this family are :-

I can't wait for Scotland to become an Independent country and put an end to this horrendous fiasco. There's no words to describe how angry I feel about lives being ruined in such a way. Best wishes x
