Reggie has poor muscle tone and hyper mobility. He also has difficulty with coordination. Due to this, he struggles to even learn how to ride a bike or balance bike. Also due to his medical issues over the last 12 months, he has lost a lot of strength and stamina meaning even walking for more than a couple of minutes is too much for him. This makes it difficult for family walks. Even the local park that is a stones throw away is too far for him without extra support. Once out, he tires fast and needs plenty of rest.
The Theraplay trike offers all the support he needs to ride a bike, which can also be disengaged when he becomes tired so an adult can push. This allows him to stay out for longer, build his strength and give him some independence.
