I am fundraising to support SANDS and the baby bereavement suite at Stepping Hill hospital. Both of these vital causes support parents and families who have experienced the tragic loss of a baby.
In February 2013 myself and my parter Oliver tragically lost our baby boy Declan 4 and a half months into my pregnancy. I had many complications and sadly our strong little fighter grew his angel wings. The baby bereavement suite at Stepping Hill Hospital was invaluable for us. There they helped us through those first few terrible days after our loss, provided a baby memorial box and the support from the specially trained bereavement midwife Carol was amazing. They need donations to help to continue to provide the service and help others who find themselves in these tragic circumstances. They also helped us to understand what happened next and provide a funeral if that is the parents wish. They make the most awful experience slightly more bearable. The SANDS charity help parents through the loss of a baby too. They provide a helpline to support people when they need it and support groups locally. Myself and bereaved mums Natalie and Amie are working towards opening a new Stockport sands support group too. Both of these causes rely on donations. We are fundraising to share the money between both of these causes. We are also running a raffle and looking for any prize donations big or small. Every penny helps these services. Both of them amazing in their own right and we couldnt have got through our loss without them. We now want to give back to these charities to help others like they helped us.

Not a day goes by we don't think about Declan, we are doing this fundraising in his name but to help every bereaved parent we can. We never move on, but we simply learn how to go on with Declan in our hearts.
