STEP NOW is an emerging youth organisation founded by four young men, who have come from disadvantaged backgrounds and faced difficult challenges. They believe a lot of this is attributable to a limiting mindset, bred by a lack of communication, guidance and knowledge from society, be that family, school and the community.

Through consulting over 200 young people between the ages of 12 & 25 and adults over 25, results confirmed that there is a broadening knowledge gap between disadvantaged young people and those from more affluent backgrounds.

STEP NOW are eager to change this narrative and provide the younger disadvantaged generation with the awareness and mindset, they wish they had, when making decisions that can have an impact for life.STEP NOW are about empowering the youth to fulfil their potential by addressing issues and removing barriers at the earliest possible stage, and using themselves as a relatable example, to show that there are alternatives to gang culture, a life on the road and just settling for mediocre.

The team want to achieve this through holding interactive, relatable and explorative talks, workshops and mentoring schemes with the local community at their hub in Brixton.
