Iʼve raised £31,562 to help Steve out with somewhere to live
- Manchester, United Kingdom
- Funded on Thursday, 1st June 2017
Don't have time to donate right now?
Story
Steve, a young man living on the streets of Manchester selflessly ran towards the sounds of terror last night to help people wounded in the horrific attack at Manchester Arena. He said in an interview that he would like to think that people would help him if he needed it... so let's do just that!

Update - this started out as a way to get Steve somewhere to.stay. Now, I think we can upgrade it to somewhere permanent to.live!

7 years agoAnother update in response to an inflammatory article in the Guardian. Some of it was given in cash donations to homeless charities. With the rest, so far, I've been told that we've already saved the lives of two men with donations of warm sleeping bags and tents. Just before Xmas, over 100 rucksacks were given out, containing warm clothes, toiletries, food, vouchers and a Christmas gift, along with winter sleeping bags and roll mats. So, the Guardian can go whistle, because we're doing good things thanks to your generosity. Love you all xx

7 years agoHi everyone. Just wanted to post a quick update to let you all know what is happening with the funds raised. It's proving very difficult to get the trust fund set up as Steve is not keeping in touch with the relevant people. He had previously expressed a wish to help out fellow homeless people with some of the money so, to that end, I am going to be recontacting homeless shelters in Manchester to arrange to A) help them out with some cash and B) ask them to get Steve to contact me. I will keep you updated as and when things start to happen.

Thank you for doing this! May this help change attitudes to those unfortunate enough to find themselves homeless.
