Story
For a number of years St Stephens Carlby PCC has worked towards a goal of upgrading our Church. Leaking roofs have been replaced and repaired at a cost of more than £50,000. Our Church is at the centre of the community but it is in need of improved facilities.
There has been a long process to gain approval for a project to install a toilet, suitable for able bodied and disabled users, water supply to allow for a small sink and an area to prepare refreshments. We are now at a point where the approval is imminent and funds are required to make this vision a reality. St Stephens Carlby is a grade 1 listed building, therefore the costs for the project are considerable at a total of £75,000. We are applying for grants from a number of providers, we anticipate that grants alone will not finance the project.
I am hoping to raise £1000 towards the total cost by running a half marathon on 18th May in Matlock Derbyshire. Please see the link below.
