Sophie is doing a sponsored walk with the children of the pre-prep at Twyford school on Friday 12th of May to raise funds for the children's Neurosurgery ward at Southampton general that has treated her for her tumours over the past year. The ward treats children recovering from Neurosurgery for brain tumours and other rare conditions and offers specialist Neuro rehabilitation from a team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists who visit daily to teach the children to walk, talk and swallow again after their operations. Funds are needed for specialist equipment. For example whilst we were on the ward there was only one wheelchair which had to be shared between all the children on the ward.
The children will be walking approx 5km which will be a massive achievement for Sophie who at Christmas time could only walk a few steps unaided! We would love to support the ward that has done so much for her and would really appreciate any donation however small. Money raised will be added to that raised by the other children and passed on by Twyford school to the ward.
