On the evening of the 1st July Shaun went out to help his friend change a flat tyre. He did the right thing by wearing a high viz jacket, head torch and had his hazards on. He was getting something out of the boot when a car drove into him. His friend Joey who he had come to help was in-between Shaun's car and his own and Shaun car shunted forward from the impact and Joey sustained muscle damage on one of his legs.
The person who was driving the car reversed and drove away from the scene leaving the boys in a critical condition.
Shaun is alive only because he is an incredibly fit young man however he has had to have both legs amputated during emergency surgery in the early hours of Saturday morning to save his life.
As many of you know over the years Shaun has raised thousands for a plethora of charities. He is a keen footballer and often participates in triathlons and two years to the day he cycled London to Paris in 24 hours.
When Shaun came round on Saturday, his first question was 'Am I still getting married?'. Their wedding is booked for the 21st July 2017 and Charlotte's response was 'Of course we are, you try and stop me', his reply was 'I'll be walking down that aisle'. There will not be a dry eye in the house!

Shaun's going to need lots of equipment and aftercare in the coming months and years and we as his family and friends want to support him and Charlotte and make the transition as easy as possible for them.
He also incidentally is already talking about the 2020 Paralympics (he is an AMAZING man!)
