Story

Here goes on Friday the 28th of may sams last day of school as he had just finished year 11 . Sam and 3 friends decided to go to ulley country park in South Yorkshire the weather was nice and warm upon arrival Sam and his friends were chilling were they decided to play a game and who ever lost they jumped in . The thing is Sam couldn’t swim but Sam lost and took the plunge with in seconds of hitting the water Sam struggled and sams best friend recognised this and jumped in after as he saw Sam was struggling . Sam was holding on to his friend for safety but unfortunately the current was too strong and took Sam when he sadly lost his life . As a family friends and a community it deeply saddened everyone affected as sam was a polite bubbly young las with the best personality and a heart of gold he was very popular with his friends .Sam was also a top judo player winning many medals world wide and formed a beautiful relationship with Ashley mckenzie who also knew Sam would go far in life .

We have set an organisation up in memory of sam named sams army’s mission 1 life were we want to warn children and adults about the dangers of open water swimming cold water shock currents and much more we also want to raise money to buy life saving equipment we may have lost Sam but if we can save just 1 we have done something right . There also definitely is not enough education around water and swimming in schools so we are also looking at this .

36 people alone this week have lost their life to drowning .

Thank you so much for wanting to help us raise as much awareness as possible.

It will never stop hearts from aching but in sams memory we will try our best to save lives
