”SUMMER” is from southsea, portsmouth, UK and was reported to us as she was in a ladies garden and was unable to use her back legs.

“SUMMER” was being moved over a 6ft garden wall by her fox mum; when the vixen lost grip and dropped her by accident. 😭

Her finder called us as the vixen and vanished and the cub was pacing around an enclosed garden dragging along her tiny back legs.

Victoria swooped her up and into a carrier and whisked her over to the vets. Initially the vest advised euthanasia! Which was out of the question as always, unless of course the animal is suffering...

The vets said to allow the healing process to start as she didnt believe there were any obvious fractures present, and ‘SUMMER’ was so tiny and malnourished that sedation for an xray was a substantial risk whilst she was as weak as she was.

We were already overflowing with orphaned cubs at the centre, so Victoria kindly offered to take little lady back to hers to initiate her rehab journey.

“Summer” recently had her xray which showed a twisted sacrum. Again we were offered euthanasia ….

She had scratched her ear with her back leg that very morning so that was again a big NO thankyou!

Fast forward 6 weeks; with lots of dedication and exercise she is just improving each and every single day…… 🦊

Lots of time, consistency and care and “Summer” is going from strength to strength.

She has now been moved outside and has her own secure garden with a spacious shed and hideaway kennel.
